Big Rapids celebrates homecoming

Michigan Avenue was filled with families getting pictures and children waiting for candy on Friday during the Big Rapids Public Schools homecoming parade. Community members showed their support by cheering on the many students dressed in red and blue who waved from floats decorated in movie themes, wagons and more. While marching past, the Big Rapids High School band performed for parade viewers. As the parade came to an end, families prepared to watch the homecoming game. Alongside BRPS students and groups, other local organizations participated in the parade, including St. Mary Catholic School. (Pioneer photos/Meghan Gunther-Haas)
