Mecosta County commissioners approve 2018 tax rates

MECOSTA COUNTY — County residents can expect to see new millages on the 2019 budget.

During the Mecosta County Board of Commissioners meeting on Thursday, members of the board approved requested 2018 tax rates. This included one county fixed millage and two millages previously voted on and approved by county residents for the Mecosta County Commission on Aging (COA) and emergency medical services operations.

During the meeting, commissioners also approved:

• The Reliance Waiver Contract 2018-19 for Reliance Community Care Partners to provide meals to the COA, which are paid for through the Medicaid/Medicare system. The meals will be reimbursed by the county at a rate of $5.75 per meal and $1.50 per liquid meal;

• Switching providers for the Register of Deeds land record and clerk vital record hardware/software system to Kofile Technologies Inc. when the current contract with Conduent Enterprise Solutions LLC ends in April 2019;

• The Area Agency on Aging Western Michigan fiscal year 2019 contract for the COA; and

• Pre-approved and non-approved bills to the county for more than $1 million.
