Pine River boys basketball edges Houghton Lake in OT

HOUGHTON LAKE — The Bucks picked up won their first game of the season on the road against the Bobcats in overtime.

Trenton Holmes led the team with 23 points and 10 rebounds and Elijah Lewis added 21 points, six rebounds, and four steals.  Holmes and Marcus Jurik combined to score 11 of Pine River’s 13 overtime points.

“It was a lot of fun,” head coach Brian Goodenow said. “They (Houghton Lake) shot their three’s and free throws well. Trenton dominated in the post, what we wanted him to do.”

The Bucks will host Reed City at 6 p.m. Friday.
