POLICE BLOTTER: Woman arrested for outstanding warrant

BIG RAPIDS — Big Rapids Department of Public Safety officers responded to the following calls Wednesday and Thursday. All calls might not be reported.

Wednesday

• Officers performed school traffic details at 7:22 a.m.

• A traffic crash occurred at 8:46 a.m. at Fuller Avenue and Division Street.

• Police were dispatched at 9:57 a.m. to assist with the removal of a guest on the 700 block of Osceola Avenue. While doing this, officers discovered the 36-year-old woman had an outstanding Kent County Friend of the Court warrant. She was arrested and lodged at the Mecosta County Jail.

• Officers provided stand-by at 11:26 a.m. on the 500 block of River Street. No issues.

• A car crashed into a mailbox at 11:40 a.m. on the 700 block of Cherry Avenue.

• At 12:49 p.m., officers assisted Mecosta County EMS in locating a patient on the campus of Ferris State University.

• Officers performed an area check at 4:51 p.m. on the 200 block of South Michigan Avenue for an open car door. The door was shut and nothing appeared disturbed.

• Police were dispatched at 5:21 p.m. to a hit-and-run crash at State and Cedar streets.

• Officers responded to a noise complaint at 9:16 p.m. on the 300 block of North Warren Avenue. Upon arrival, no loud music could be heard. Officers spoke with tenants who said they had music on while showering. They were advised to keep neighbors in mind when playing music.

• At 9:51 p.m., officers assisted Michigan State Police transport a man from the 600 block of Maple Street for an interview at DPS.

Thursday

• A traffic stop at 1:43 a.m. at State and West Avenue resulted in a 22-year-old woman being arrested for operating while intoxicated.
