MSHDA grants $30,000 for neighborhood enhancements

EVART — The city of Evart will be putting $30,000 toward the exterior beautification of their city in hopes of attracting more visitors.

Granted by the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA), homeowners will have the chance to enhance their home exteriors through renovated windows, outdoor paint, roof and/or porch repairs.

The city council has also approved a contribution of $10,000 for tree planting and new sidewalks for any chosen applicant of the grant.

The city is currently working with MSHDA on program guidelines for the grant and will begin accepting applications in the near future.

Income levels will apply.
