Osceola County seeks new sheriff

OSCEOLA COUNTY — Osceola County officials are beginning their search for a new county sheriff.

Osceola County Probate Court Judge Tyler Thompson, Prosecutor Anthony Badovinac and Clerk Karen Bluhm are scheduled to meet to select a candidate to fill the upcoming vacancy at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 14, at 301 W. Upton Ave.

Interested candidates must submit a resume to the Osceola County Clerk’s Office no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 9.

The selection panel will meet on Monday, Aug. 12, to review resumes and will contact applicants for interviews on Aug. 14.

Qualified candidates must be registered to vote, 18 or older and a resident of Osceola County.

This is an elected position and will appear on the ballot in 2020.
