Area departments respond to structure fire in Sears

SEARS — No one was injured in a fire which broke out in a cabin Monday morning.

The Evart Area Fire Department was called out to the structure fire at 2180 35th Ave. in Sears, and were assisted by several local departments, including Garfield Township Fire Rescue, Hersey Township Fire Department and the Barryton Community Fire Department.

Fire Chief Shane Helmer, with the Evart Area Fire Department, said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
