Evart sets town hall meeting for property assessment reappraisal

EVART – The City of Evart is hosting a town hall meeting to discuss property assessment reappraisal that will be starting soon.

The informational discussion session will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, at Evart City Hall, located at 200 S. Main St.

Officials will discuss and answer the following:

  • What is a reappraisal;
  • How will it affect city residents’ taxes;
  • Why the city is having a reappraisal done; and
  • Who will be measuring homes and  business.

“We’re going to meet with residents in a very, very informal setting,” City Treasurer/Assessor Sarah Dvoracek Monday’s City Council meeting. “The residents will get to hear what we’ll be doing, and meet the person actually doing the assessment.”

For more information about the town hall meeting, call City Hall at (231) 734-2181 or email sarah.dvoracek@evart.org.
