Sunny skies met families for the sixth annual Airplane Easter Egg Drop on Saturday afternoon at the Evart Municipal Airport.

Thousands of eggs already were laid out on the ground and divided into areas for three age groups near the runway. Thousands more were delivered via helicopter from bulging mesh bags to the ground below.

“There were 16,000 eggs in total,” said Al Weinberg, president of the Evart Downtown Development Authority. “There are enough eggs for everybody.”

The Evart DDA, along the Local Development Finance Authority, the City of Evart, the Evart Moose Lodge, Evart Department of Public Works, Evart Police Department and Community Emergency Response Team, cooperated to make the annual Evart Chamber of Commerce event go off without a hitch.
