Evart track team takes first

ALMA — Evart took first place in the Division 4 boys standings of the Alma College Scottie Classic track and field meet on Saturday.
Chippewa Hills had 834.5 points compared to 812 for Benzie Central.In Division 4 girls, Evart was fourth at 471 and Crossroads eighth with 60.Evart boys had 810.5 points in the eight-team Division 4 boys meet.
“We did have a really good day,” Evart coach Dennis Peacock said. “It was a meet where everybody scores. We had a number of younger kids who stepped up and had good performances. That was a real key.”
Leaders for individual teams were:
Evart: Brooke Belleville won the 100-meter dash (13.48 seconds). Macey Wallace was sixth in the 200-meter dash (29.29). Belleville, Wallace, Kymberley Morrone and Madison Parish were fourth in the 800 relay (1:58.13).BOYS
Evart: Danny Griffin won the 100 meters (11.72) while Cody Pritchard was third (11.89). Kyle Stokes was first in the 200 meters (23.08). Josh Woods ran the 800-meter run (2:02.97) and 1,600 meters (4:41.63). Nathan Woods was first in the 3,200-meter run (10:20.39). Pritchard, Martin, Stokes and Griffin won the 400 relay (45.15). Pritchard, Martin, Stokes and Griffin won the 800 relay (1:33.32). Scott Martin won the high jump (6-2). Nathan and Josh Woods and Austin and Alex Hamilton won the 3,200-meter relay (8:34.3). Martin was third (17-10) and tied with Pritchard.
Evart is at the Breckenridge regionals on Saturday.
Evart was at McBain on Tuesday. The Highland meet is Tuesday at Beal City.
