LEROY — Pine River girls volleyball players who earned all-Highland Conference honors this season were KayLee Goodman, Emma Whitley, Sophie Johnson and Cayla Trowbridge.

Parker Moores was honorable mention.

“KayLee has been a four year starter for my team and a leader since day one,” Pine River coach Jana Dennis said. “Her talent speaks for itself. I have enjoyed watching her grow not only as a player but as a great person as well.

“She did a fantastic job this year helping my very young team reach the potentials that she and I knew they were capable of. She led with grace and dignity throughout the season and her high school career. She will definitely be missed next year.”

Whitley was a freshman.

“Emma as a freshman came in and filled a hole we had offensively and defensively,” Dennis said. “Her volleyball IQ and abilities made her seem older than a freshman on the court. Her fierce competitiveness brought a hunger to this team that we have been missing.

“She and KayLee worked very well together and complimented each other well. Even though Emma was just a freshman she brought a vast amount of good to this team and its culture. She was a lot of fun to watch progress as the season went on.”
