Jenna Johnson set for strong senior season at Reed City

REED CITY — Jenna Johnson is one of only two seniors on the Reed City varsity volleyball team and is looking to make the Coyotes extremely competitive this season.

Johnson is on the varsity her second season.

“We didn’t win many games last year but had fun,” she said. “I went to all the summer stuff. We did the Ferris camp and spent every day (in the gym).”

Johnson is a rightside hitter this season, as she was last season.

“I’m pretty good at working with their hitters,” Johnson said. “I can set, and do some passing.”

The Coyotes have their home opener on Tuesday in Central State Activities Association Gold Division action. On Thursday, they swept Evart and Harrison in a road match.

“I think we’re going to be pretty good,” Johnson said. “We’re a good hitting team. We have a very good setter and good passers.”
