Keeping the fishery strong: 68,000 Chinook Salmon planted in Manistee River Channel

Volunteers from the Manistee County Sport Fishing Association filled pens behind the Manistee Elks Lodge wtih 68,000 Chinook Salmon fingerlings on Friday, May 20. They will remain there for a week until they acclimate to the water. The association has played a key role for the past 20 years in keeping the local fishery strong.
