Resident believes township board memberx should attend ‘Firemen’s Frenzy’

The Wellston Booster’s held their annual “Firemen’s Frenzy” this past Saturday night at the Norman Township hall.

It was an enjoyable evening with a great dinner and live band. The fire chief spoke about the importance of our volunteers who put their lives on the line each and every time the get a call.

Proceeds from the event went to the fire department for new equipment or supplies whatever they may need.

My gripe is this, for the past few years, there has only been one Norman township board member present to support the VOLUNTEER department. This year I understand there were other events happening but what about the past years?

My personal opinion is that the board members should always be present at community functions, if possible, how else can they understand and represent the people in their township, realize their views and what better place to socialize with thier voters.

Just saying…
