MANISTEE — The Manistee Lions Club recently made a $200 contribution to Manistee County Habitat for Humanity.

Martha Alberts, who made the contribution, said it was given for two reasons — because Habitat for Humanity is a good cause and because the local Habitat volunteers help with the Lions’ major fundraisers each year — the fish boil and pig roast that are held during the Manistee National Forest Festival.

Representatives of both organizations noted that they are looking for new members and volunteers. Further information about Manistee County Habitat for Humanity is available by calling (231) 723-7458 and about the Manistee Lions Club is available by calling president Rose Sweigart at (231) 723-2228.
