Fundraiser to benefit ‘We Honor Veterans Program’ at Hospice of Michigan

On June 9, Hospice of Michigan will be hosting a fundraiser to benefit their new program – We Honor Veterans. Funds are needed for materials for education and to honor veterans in the hospice program.

Beginning at 9 a.m. a book sale to benefit the program will be held at the Hospice of Michigan office located at 5177 W U S 10, and will continue until 4 p.m. Please contact Jean Taylor at Hospice of Michigan at 231-945-3422 or email jtaylor@hom.org for details.

Thunder at the River

Rolling Thunder Inc Michigan Chapter #1 will present Thunder at the River – 3rd Annual Salute to Veterans on June 23-24.

This event will include music, riding food and fun at the Little River Casino Resort.

Events include: The Michigan Vietnam Memorial Wall, Fallen Heroes Memorial, Pure Thunder Escorted Veterans Memorial Ride, Coast Guard helicopter fly-over, blessing of the bikes, US Army-sponsored climbing all, classic bike show, Hooters girls bike wash, live bands, poker run, vendors, random prize drawings and silent auction. Summer in Motion – 2012

Looking for something to do this summer? Dance is a great way to stay in shape and have fun. The Conservatory of Dance has classes in Beginning Ballet, Hip Hop, Acrobatics, Kinderdance and more for ages 3 and up. The Conservatory of Dance Inc. has successfully trained area youth for the past 20 years. Our curriculum has been designed to accommodate the recreational dancer as well as the serious student.

A Shore Thing

West Shore Medical Center will host “A Shore Thing” on Aug. 10 beginning at 6 p.m. It will be an evening of casual elegance at Seng’s Marina to benefit West Shore Medical Center.

Admission includes a broiled lobster tail dinner and drinks. Wine, beer, soda, and West Shore Medical Centers signature cocktail. Belle Suite will be performing live, so wear your dancing shoes! Silent and live auctions and a chance to win a treasure chest filled with cash will round out the festivities. The original quilted (yes, quilted!) Manistee scene by local artist Emma Anderson depicted in the A Shore Thing logo is just one of the items that will be up for bid at the event.

Dr. Shrink 2nd Annual Charity Golf Outing

Dr. Shrink will host the 2nd Annual Charity Golf Outing on Friday, Aug. 17. This year’s event will benefit Love INC of Manistee. The event will be held at Manistee Golf & Country Club right on beautiful Lake Michigan! Established in 1901, Manistee Golf & Country Club is one of Michigan’s oldest, continually operating golf courses. With nearly 3/4 mile of Lake Michigan shoreline, this historic course features a unique golfing experience with a view of the “Big Lake” on virtually every hole.

Love INC is a clearinghouse to process client needs, matching them with resources from partner churches and community organizations. Family Education/Relational Programs, emergency utility assistance and winter homeless sanctuary.
