‘9 to 5’ cast announced

MANISTEE — The Manistee Civic Players have released the cast for “9 to 5: The Musical” that opens Friday, March 8 at the Ramsdell Theatre.

The stage show opened on Broadway in 2009 and is based on the 1980 movie that starred Dolly Parton, Lilly Tomlin, Jane Fonda and Dabne Coleman.

In the lead roles for the Ramsdell production are Liz Zupin as Violet Newstead, Erin Iwanusa as Doralee Rhodes, JoAnn Muma as Judy Bernly, Clyve Lagerquist as Franklin Hart Jr., and Nanci Swenson as Roz Keith.

Other cast members are Carol Burba as Margaret, Linda Cihlar as the doctor, Fallon Gates as candy striper and dancer, Sean Gilbert as Joe, Colleen Granada as Maria, Robert Isble as Dick and Mr. Tinsworthy, Tucker Laws as Josh, Kathleen Mielke as Kathy, Leslie Osborn as Missy, Grace Paxson as new employee, Josh Paxson as attendant, Samantha Paxson is in the chorus, Michael Templeton as Dwayne and the detective, Dave Yarnell as Bob Enright and Mary Yarnell in the chorus.

Jackie Karnisz is directing the production, Erin Iwanusa is the choral director and choregrapher, Cynthia Burt is the pianist and Brenna Richardson is the orchestral director.

The curtain is at 7:30 p.m. for performances on March 8, 9, 15 and 16 and at 2 p.m. for the Sunday performances on March 10 and 17.
