Chapel on wheels

A portable children’s chapel on wheels, sponsored by the Evangelism Fellowship of Mason County, will be in Bear Lake on Monday, Aug. 13 in front of the First Baptist Church, corner of Main and Virginia streets.

Drum and Bugle practice

The All Girl Drum and Bugle Corps of the American Legion will hold two regular practices next week, one on Monday and another on Thursday beginning at 7 p.m. at the Legion home on Filer Street. Any girl 18 or over who might be interested in becoming a member of this group is welcome to attend either of these meetings and obtain further information on the procedure.

80 YEARS AGO

Dogs must be tied and muzzled

City Health Officer Dr. Ernest Hansen wishes to remind owners of dogs of the state law requiring dogs to be kept on a leash or muzzled during the months of July and August. Warning has been given before by the health officer and many owners are obeying the law, but there are still many owners who are not complying.

Today’s temps

Today’s water and air temperatures at the city bathing beaches are reported as 68 degrees for the water, with the atmosphere registering 74.
