COURT REPORT: Manistee County’s 85th District Court and 19th Circuit Court

The following cases were heard last week in the Manistee County Courthouse. All cases might not be reported.

19th Circuit Court

• Cody Allen Doberstein, 19, of Copemish, was sentenced to three to 10 years in prison for breaking and entering a building plus five counts of violating his probation. He also was sentenced to two to four years in prison for assault with a dangerous weapon plus four counts of violating his probation. On the first case, he was ordered to pay $198 in fines in costs; on the second, he was ordered to pay $1,998 in fines and costs.

• Knight Winterhawk Vizenor, 20, of Manistee, was was sentenced to 30 months to five years in prison for attempted breaking and entering plus three counts of violating his probation. He was given credit for 583 days served. He also was sentenced on a separate case to 20 to 30 months in prison for two counts of attempted home invasion plus two counts of violating his probation. He was ordered to pay $1,366 in fines and costs.

85th District Court

• Franky Gene Colby, 31, of Wellston, was sentenced for aggravated domestic violence. He was ordered to serve 120 days in jail and given credit for four days served. He also was ordered to pay $1,175 in fines and costs and will be on probation for two years.

• Charla Kay Wittkamp-Bishop, 43, of Manistee, was sentenced for retail fraud, second degree. She was ordered to serve 30 days in jail, pay $1,925 in fines and costs and will be on probation for two years.

• James Carl Maddox, 35, of Manistee, was sentenced for malicious destruction of property valued between $200 and $1,000. He was ordered to serve 90 days in jail and given credit for 31 days served. He also was ordered to pay $3,765 in fines and costs and will be on probation for two years.

• Stephen James Bursley, 25, of Manistee, pleaded guilty to receiving/concealing stolen property valued between $200 and $1,000. He was ordered to serve 23 days in jail and given credit for 23 days served. He also was ordered to pay $925 in fines and costs and will be on probation for two years.

• Christopher Ray Myers, 23, of Manistee, pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia. He was ordered to serve 18 days in jail and given credit for 18 days served. He also was ordered to pay $575 in fines and costs.

• Isaac Jerome Bafford, 29, of Manistee, pleaded no contest to assault and battery. He was ordered to serve 68 days in jail and given credit for 68 days served. He also was ordered to pay $725 in fines and costs and will be on probation for one year.

• Virginia Alta Diaz-Dominguez, 42, of Wyoming, Mich., was sentenced for larceny of under $200. She was ordered to serve two days and given credit for two days served. She also was ordered to pay $1,476 in fines and costs and will be on probation for one year.

• Breanna Maryann Twigg, 22, of Battle Creek, pleaded guilty to operating without insurance. She was ordered to serve 14 days in jail and given credit for 14 days served. She also was ordered to pay $725 in fines and costs.

• Juanita Kay Porter, 58, of Rosebush, pleaded guilty to reckless firearms use. She was ordered to pay $725 in fines and costs and will be on probation for six months.

• Mellisona Lynn Gale, 37, of Kaleva, pleaded guilty to receiving/concealing stolen property valued between $200 and $1,000. She was ordered to pay $780 in fines and costs and will be on probation for one year.
