Pedestrian killed in Wexford County accident

CADILLAC — The Michigan State Police Cadillac Post is investigating a fatal car/pedestrian crash that occurred on Friday at approximately 9 p.m. on M-115 near E 34 Road.

Troopers from the Cadillac Post responded to a personal injury accident where a pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle along M-115. A westbound cargo van being driven by a 42 year old Williamsburg man struck a pedestrian who was walking along M-115. The pedestrian, a 41 year old Marion man, was walking his bicycle in close proximity of the fog line when he was struck by the van.

He was transported by North Flight Ambulance to Munson Medical Center in Traverse City where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the cargo van was not injured.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by North Flight EMS, Selma Township Fire Department, and the Wexford County Sheriff’s Office. Alcohol Is not believed to have been a factor in the accident. The crash is still under investigation.
