Ice arena denied

The Manistee-Mason County Ice Arena project at West Shore Community College received a setback when they received preliminary notification that they will not be receiving Michigan Department of Natural Resources Recreation Grant money.

Arcadia Lions Christmas show

The Arcadia Lions Club will present Jim Sommers in “The Magic of Christmas” tonight, December 11 at the Onekama High School at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Sommers has presented shows in person in capital cities of the western world and the orient and has appeared on the Steve Allen show.

Christmas mailings

The local post office started receiving the first influx of the annual Christmas mail this week and has inaugurated a new system to aid in the expeditious handling of the mailings. Signs have been placed over the lobby windows, informing patrons of the service rendered at the particular windows and the various routings at the mail chutes.

 

Men’s club to get

charter

The newly organized Methodist Men’s Club will be presented with its meeting in the church parlors at 6:30 p.m. Jim Pound, of Traverse, will make the presentation and dinner will be served by the Dorcas Society of the Methodist Church to 85 men who have made reservations.
