M-22 crash injures two

ONEKAMA — Two people were injured following a two-car accident at 4:10 p.m. on M-22 at Memorial Drive on Wednesday.

According to the Michigan State Police, who responded to the crash, a 73-year-old woman from Onekama was driving south and slowed to turn left onto Memorial Drive. As she slowed, her vehicle was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by a 40-year-old Bear Lake man.

According to police, the man attempted to drive onto the shoulder of M-22 but was unable to avoid the other vehicle.

The Onekama woman was treated at the scene and the Bear Lake man was transported to West Shore Medical Center. The extent of the injuries was unknown on Thursday, according to the MSP Cadillac post.

The accident closed M-22 for a short time.
