MANISTEE — As the leave the cold weather subsides, the Manistee Farmers’ & Artisans’ Market convenes this Saturday and every Saturday through October.

More and more vegetables are popping out of the ground, and will be available from local vendors. There are also fresh cut flowers, hanging plants, local trees and saplings, along with baked goods, maple syrup, beverages and other items.

There are cooking demonstrations highlighting the local, fresh vegetables each week.

This week’s live music will showcase a solo performance from Eric Engblade of The Northern Skies, a Grand Rapids-based band. Engblade is from Ludington and has shared the stage with The Ragbirds and other up and coming Michigan bands.

The market is open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays, and is located in the parking lot on the corner of Memorial Drive and Washington Street.
