BENZONIA — The first Benzie Area Christian Neighbors (BACN) Bacon Cook-off will feature 10 culinary artists from kitchens across Benzie County competing for prize money and the title of Benzie’s Best with Bacon.

The tasting event is scheduled for noon to 3 p.m. on Aug. 30 at the Johnson Community Hall, located at 955 James St. in Frankfort.

The public is invited to sample dishes with bacon as the common ingredient and vote favorites. Participating eateries will be The Bayview Grill, Chimney Corners Resort, Coho, Crescent Bakery, Cru Cellars, Elberto’s Taqueria, Frankfort Takeout, Jim Voltz “On The Porch” Series, Mayfair Tavern and Stormcloud Brewing Company.

Tasting tickets will be sold at the door. Proceeds will be used to underwrite the food pantry and adult education classes at BACN.
