Christmas Joy Fest slated at Marilla Museum & Pioneer Place

MARILLA — The Marilla Historical Society invites everyone to Christmas Joy Fest next month to kick off the holiday season.

The event is set for 4 to 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 29, with all guests invited to the historic Marilla Church of the Brethren for a carol sing beginning at 7:30.

All museum spaces will be decorated in the spirit of the season with the sound of “Roving Carolers” throughout. There will be interactive activities and a handmade noodle demo. A bonfire with hot wassail being served around the fire circle behind the Nels Cabin will take the chill away.

All museum spaces will be open for touring, and a special exhibit is being planned. Max and Ruth Bloomquist, a folk duo, will perform in concert during the event. A meal will be provided as well.

To top the evening off, the carol sing at the church will follow the concert.

All proceeds help the Marilla Historical Society to operate and maintain the museum. Contact Jan Thomas at (231) 362-3430 for further information or visit marillahistory.org or allartsmanistee.com.
