MANISTEE — The West Shore Medical Center Auxiliary’s annual Sleighbell Craft Show, Raffle, Bake Sale and Bazaar is a popular staple of Manistee’s Victorian Sleighbell Parade and Old Christmas Weekend.

This year’s event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Dec. 6 at Manistee High School, located at 525 12th St. Admission is free.

This show is one of the largest and best attended events of its kind in northwestern Michigan and features over 150 artists, crafters and vendors from around the region, as well as a bake sale, raffle and musical entertainment. The vendors will be selling a wide variety of goods, including wood crafts, jewelry, photography, candy, greenery, dolls and accessories, and knit goods.

Raffle tickets and baked goods will be sold to raise funds to benefit the auxiliary’s pledge to support enhanced wound care services at West Shore Medical Center and the hospital’s endowment fund. Tickets will be available at the show and may be purchased in advance from auxiliary members or from the Bits of Cheer Gift Shop at the hospital.

Santa Claus will be in attendance from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and music will be played throughout the day. Lunch and snacks will be available for purchase in the school’s cafeteria. For the convenience of shoppers, a courtesy van will offer rides from the parking lot to the front door.

In addition, the Manistee Lions will be offering free pediatric vision screenings for children age 5 and under. To make your holiday gift-giving even easier, volunteers from MOPS will be offering gift wrapping, and the US Postal Service will be on hand to help with shipping.

With a team of over 100 members, the West Shore Medical Center Auxiliary has been serving the hospital for over 60 years. Auxiliary members volunteer throughout the hospital, operate the Bits of Cheer Gift Shop in the hospital lobby and are active in fundraising efforts. The Sleighbell Craft Show, Raffle, Bake Sale and Bazaar is their largest fundraiser of the year.
