Manistee Civic Players hosting play auditions in January

MANISTEE — Audition dates for the Manistee Civic Players upcoming production of “The Last of the Dragons” were announced Thursday.

Taking place on Sunday, Jan. 4 and Monday, Jan. 5, 2015 at the Ramsdell Theatre, three male roles and three female parts are being auditioned for and no preparation is necessary to audition.

The parts are open to children from 4th grade through high school, with possible additional roles.

“The Last of the Dragons,” a story written by Edith Nesbit and adapted for the stage by Kristin Walter, takes place in Middlefield where a tradition takes place. At 16 years old, a princess is tied to a rock, kidnapped by a dragon and rescued by a prince, where they live happily ever after, but what if the prince is unwilling to fight and the dragon is nowhere in sight?

Performances take place on Feb. 13, 14 and 15.
