Safe Harbor closed until Jan. 17

MANISTEE — Due to a shortage of overnight volunteers, Safe Harbor of Manistee has closed its doors until Jan. 17.

Safe Harbor is an overnight shelter for the homeless of Manistee County. Dinner, a place to sleep and breakfast are provided to those who use the service.

The program, a GAP ministry of Love INC, will re-open at 6 p.m. on Jan. 17 at Faith Covenant Church.

However, if more overnight volunteers become available, Safe Harbor could re-open on Jan. 10.

To volunteer, call (231) 723-6613 and ask for Catrina Brown at extension 12. Brown can also be reached at catrinab@loveincmanistee.org. Volunteers can also stop by the Love INC office, located at 390 River St. to pick up an application.
