Nationally-known choir to visit Manistee church

MANISTEE — A traveling choir will present its talents at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on Sunday.

The Concert Choir of the Michigan Lutheran Seminary in Saginaw will present a concert at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the church.

The church is located at 313 Fourth St. in Manistee.

There are 36-singers in the choir that has toured annually since 1955, appearing in more than 30 states, Canada and Europe. More than 30 concerts during the 2014-15 season are scheduled.

Bethany Schmeling, daughter of St. Paul’s pastor, the Rev. Schmeling, is a member of the choir.

There is no admission charge, but a freewill offering will be taken. The event is open to the public.
