Admiral plans visit

Admiral Peschel from Coast Guard Headquarters in Washington, D.C. will visit the Manistee Station and S.O.S. Task Force on May 23. The tour follows the S.O.S. Task Force’s visit to Washington D.C for a meeting with Coast Guard and Congressional officials.

Bank moving day

This will be a busy week with the local branch of the Manistee Bank and Trust Company moving today to their fine new Swiss Chalet type building on the south side of Main Street.

Jaycees see record sale

The Manistee Jaycees today voiced their sincere appreciation to all Manistee citizens who gave a record amount of “white elephants” during last night’s final city-wide pickup despite the interruption of a rainfall. An estimated 30 truckloads of items, with probably the widest variety ever seen in the nine year history of Jaycee White Elephant sales was collected.
