Michigan Legacy Art Park hosting guided tours

THOMPSONVILLE — The Michigan Legacy Art Park (MLAP) began offering guided tours on June 21, which will continue throughout the summer until August 13.

The hiking tours will be held on Thursdays and Sundays.

Participants will meet at the trailhead at 9 a.m. on Thursdays and 10 a.m. on Sundays to begin the tour, which can be hiked on foot or traversed through on an all-terrain golf cart.

There is no cost to attend the hour-and-a-half long tour, however a donation is suggested.

A press release from MLAP called the guided tours of the park a fun activity for adults and families, highlighting the sculptures’ links to history and the environment.

Riding tours are available to guests who may be unable to hike the hilly trails beyond the new accessible trail, the release indicated.

Beginning June 24, riding tours will be held on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10 a.m. A full 24 hour advanced registration is required prior to the date selected for a tour and seating is limited to five passengers so plan to book early.

The riding tours, which conclude on August 15, last approximately one hour, and there is a suggested fee.

Call 231-378-4963 for reservations or send an email to renee@michlegacyartpark.org.
