Manistee County Veterans rally

The Veterans of Foreign Wars 12 District Meeting and Rally will be held at Marion Blue-Mountain Post No. 6015, Sunday, August 3. Service officers meeting is at 11 a.m. with lunch at 12 p.m. The 12th District is looking forward to a large crowd.

New contract

It was announced today by President Richard Wehrmeister of the bargaining committee of Local 213, UAW-AFL, that Michigan Tool Co. and Local 213 have settled contract and wage negotiations for the next three years with an improved vacation plan, insurance, sick and health benefits plan, and better seniority and grievance procedure.

Child wins prize

Singing over the microphone and dancing before a large audience at Rainbow Gardens in Ludington last Saturday night, little Dorothy Kresteff of Manistee, carried off the second prize in the big amateur contest sponsored by Winegar’s Orchestra, which is playing an engagement at the pavilion.
