RUDY LINKE: Organizer appreciates work that went into flag poles at beach

TO THE EDITOR:

I would like to personally thank Blain Vadeboncouer who brought his work crew down from Traverse City for two days in a row to pour the concrete and set the seven poles for the veterans flags at First Street Beach.

This is above and beyond the norm. He is a Navy vet, and I guess that is what they do.

I would also like to correct the “Taps” player’s name in the paper; David Solberg had to be out of town at the last minute and Larry Babcock filled in.

Excellent job everyone.

But why that close to our pavillion? We need to park cars close to the pavillioj for events to unload supplies etc. Why not have the flag pole another 20 ft to the East??????????
