Lakers dominate in cross-country

The Bear Lake Lakers showed their dominance of major cross-country meets this season as they crushed the rest of their West Michigan D League opponents in the conference last Thursday. The Lakers’ powerful performance was led by Bob Dansby as he earned a first in the event. He was followed by teammates Ken Overla and Randy Meister.

Ceremony to mark improvements

With the weatherman cooperating with a long range weather forecast of fair and warmer for the weekend, the official dedication of the major improvements at the Manistee-Blacker Airport on Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock will take place with an estimated 30 aircraft participating along with a large throng of county and city persons interested in touring the airport.

Wellston boys meet

Four Wellston youths recently met on Okinawa while in service and had a happy reunion. They are: Ronnie Sands, Richard Belic, Frank Schwant, and Jack Lebeadie.

Drive in full swing

Reports from the various committeemen conducting the Board of Commerce membership campaign indicate a considerable increase in the number of members. Several new memberships have already been secured and former ones are being renewed in nearly every instance.
