Hello Manistee County! I am so excited by all of the activities and programs that are going to be going on at the Senior Center. I hope you will stop down and check some of them out.

I don’t think I have ever seen such an interested crowd as we had on Wednesday. We had Ron Helmboldt stop by with all kinds of supplies for the Adult Coloring craze that is going on in the country. It was fun! It is not like your kids’ or grandkids’ coloring; it is very detailed and there are beautiful designs. This craze is helping people with stress and blood pressure. It is a very good way to relax and enjoy some quiet time. I was amazed that so many people stayed and colored. It was such an enjoyable activity. Thank you, Ron, for taking the time to share this fun activity with all of us at the Senior Center.

We are so happy to have John O’Hagan back with “Wheelin’ & Dealin’ with Johnny O.” This was such a popular event for all of the seniors. If you remember “Let’s Make A Deal,” it will give you an idea of how the game works. People dress up, or wear a hat or glasses, and get picked to play a game and they either win a great prize or get a ZONK. The last time John was here, it was such a blast, so if you are interested in participating give us a call to reserve your seat. This time we will be taking it on the road to the Norman Township Community Center in Wellston,

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and we have been working very hard so everyone can have a great day. There will be some fun games, great music and some delicious food for this big bash. I hope you will come and join in on the fun.

I am really looking forward to the AARP taxes that are done every year at the Senior Center. This is a great time for us to get to know some seniors who haven’t stopped down to the Senior Center before. If you are interested in having your taxes done, please give us a call at (231) 723-6477 to schedule an appointment. Space is limited, so make sure you call as soon as you can.

This week we have our Matter of Balance class on Monday. If you would like some information on this program, please call the Senior Center.

Tuesday, we have Toe Tapping with the 3Ds. This is always a great time, and everyone really enjoys the fun music.

We always have some sort of crafting going on Wednesday afternoons, so stop in for some fun. We also have our great Veterans Exchange program Wednesday afternoon. All veterans are welcome to stop by and share their stories.

Thursday, we will have Carrie Selbee and her band stop by and really get the crowd moving. It’s always a great day when we have music.

I hope you have a wonderful week and try something new.
