Men Who Care donate $2,750 to Staircase Youth Services

The Men Who Care of Manistee County (MWC) donated $2,750 to Staircase Youth Services at its meeting in January.

The organization, based in Ludington, services Manistee, Mason, Lake, Wexford and Missaukee counties and provides

Staircase Youth Services executive director Cynthia Arneson said the donation will be used specifically in Manistee County to run a summer program this year in the county.

The summer program, which will be for about 15 young people, will help them via service learning projects and learning life skills, Arneson said.

MWC is a local group of approximately 30 men who meet quarterly to select a non-profit organization in need of funds. Since its inception, MWC have donated $8,700 to assist local non-profit organizations including Love In the Name of Christ, St. Joseph Catholic Church’s Community Kitchen, CHOICES of Manistee and StonesHouse of Manistee.

The group encourages and invites more men to become a part of the group. More members will mean a larger impact on the nonprofit organizations of Manistee County.
