I hope everyone has something wonderful planned with their families and friends on such a beautiful weekend.

I was lucky. I had dinner with my dad last night and on Sunday I will get to spend the day with my husband and my son-in-law Andrew.

Yes, I had a wonderful surprise on Mother’s Day. I am going to be a grandma again. My Molly and Andrew are going to be parents. I can’t wait. I know they are going to be such loving wonderful parents. When I see how much they love our little Adeline, it always warms my heart.

So, I want to wish all of the Dads, Grandpas, Pa Pas, and Dziadzias out there a very Happy Father’s Day!

We have a lot coming up in the next few weeks. I talked to the staff about something that may be fun to do, but I think they wanted to lock me in the freezer for suggesting one more thing. So, I decided to concentrate on what we have going on already and not add any more.

The staff at the Senior Center is great. If you see any of them, make sure you tell them they are doing a wonderful job. They really all go above and beyond for the seniors in Manistee County.

We have some great programs coming up in the next few weeks. Tuesday, we will be premiering our “Senior Video” at the Vogue. Join us at 10 a.m. They will show our video, then we will watch the movie “Learning to Drive,” and then they will show our video once more. Brian Veine and his Video Production class are to be commended on the fantastic job they did for us. Be sure to call the Senior Center at (231) 723-6477 to sign up.

John Marek and the band will be coming in to entertain everyone on June 24. Come in and have some fun. We have John O’Hagan, Manistee County’s Undersheriff coming in for “Police Talk” on June 27. He will be bringing in a K-9 unit. Then we have our great 3Ds in for Toe Tapping Tuesday on June 28.

I am excited that the Tigers trip is coming up. We always have a really great time. I may have a couple of seats open, so if you love the Tigers and want to go cheer them on, give us a call.

Another big event that is just around the corner is our big 4th of July Kickoff party at Stronach Township Hall on July 1. This is a great time to visit with friends, dance a little, listen to some beautiful music and eat some delicious food. Butch Baker and the Just 4 Fun Band will be playing and Jerry Zupin will be catering a wonderful meal.

There will be some great door prizes and raffles. If you want to have a wonderful time in Manistee County, please come to this fun and exciting party.

We are so lucky. The Senior Center will have a float in the Forest Festival Parade again this year. Last year we had some lovely bathing beauties in the parade, so make sure to see what we came up with this year.

Last week we had a really fun time. We had a lot of people stopping in for their Project FRESH coupons, and tickets for the 4th of July party.

We had a busy Tuesday with Toe Tapping Tuesday.

Wednesday we had a full house for “Fun Bingo,” crafts with Jeanne Boyko, Coloring with Kids and computer class.

Thursday we had a Safe Banking seminar with Huntington Bank and a presentation about safe online banking with the nice folks from West Shore Bank on Friday.

If you are ever looking for something to do, please stop by and see what is going on at the Senior Center.

Have a wonderful week and remember to try something new!
