Brethren Days musical lineup announced

BRETHREN — The Brethren Boosters are pleased to announce the musical lineup for the 2016 annual Brethren Days Celebration, taking place on Sept. 3 and 4 in the Village of Brethren.

All bands and entertainment will be performing under the gazebo in the Dickson Township Park, located on Coates Highway in Brethren.

There is a cost for admission, however children under 12 years old accompanied by an adult enter free. However, no one under 16 years old is allowed in after 9 p.m. without adult supervision.

Musical lineup for Sept. 3:

  • Peace Love Music — noon to 4 p.m.
  • Awesome Distraction — 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

  • The Blunt Band — 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Musical lineup for Sept. 4:

  • The Nephews — noon to 3 p.m.
  • Duke and the Studebakers — 3-6 p.m.

Along with musical entertainment, activities throughout the weekend include a co-ed softball tournament, arts and crafts, the High Bridge Hustle 5K, horseshoe pitching, a poker run, cardboard boat race, the grand parade, and fireworks display the night of Sept. 3.

In case of inclement weather, the fireworks display will take place at dusk on Sept. 4.

Also, replacing the chicken BBQ will be a ham dinner.

The Brethren Boosters is a non-profit organization that is always looking for new members and volunteers to make their projects successful. Throughout the year, the boosters host Christmas activities, an Easter egg hunt, donating food and monies to local food pantries, and provide scholarships to graduates.
