Showmanship Sweepstakes event takes place Friday during fair

Children involved in the local 4-H program know how to show different animals for competition, but Friday’s 4-H Showmanship Sweepstakes put a twist on that. Held at the Manistee County Fairgrounds in Onekama, the event had about 20 children showing animals such as a pig, goat, turkey and rabbit. The grand winners won a tile engraved with what they won, the year and that year’s shown animals. The reserve winners received a medal.
