Scottville Harvest Festival starts today

SCOTTVILLE — The Scottville Harvest Festival, taking place today through Sunday in downtown Scottville, celebrates the variety of crops grown in the area.

A variety of events are planned for the weekend, including a children’s carnival, a family tent for older children, live music on Friday and Saturday and more.

Thursday’s events include a car show from 5-8 p.m. at the West parking lot, a pie social at 5 p.m. at Scottville United Methodist Church, 114 W. State St., and a teen dance from 8-10 p.m. in the entertainment tent.

Friday’s events include a quilt show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Scottville Area Senior Center at 140 South Main St., a Sandcastles Children’s Museum Scavenger Hunt from noon to 4 p.m. in the family tent, a children and pet parade at 6 p.m. on South Main Street, and a power wheels demo derby at 7 p.m. on South Main Street.

The weekend concludes Saturday with events including softball tournaments at McPhail Field, a Running of the Crowns 5K at 10 a.m. at Scottville Riverside Park, located at 700 South Scottville Rd., and the Grand Parade at 1 p.m. with a performance by the Scottville Clown Band afterward.
