Ski swap

A sure way to fight off the winter blahs and cabin fever is to stay busy and at the 21st Annual Manistee Ski Club ski swap Oct. 26, people can find used and new winter sports equipment to make the cold season more than just a waiting period for spring. Michael Kelley, one of the swap organizers, said people begin asking him about the annual ski swap as early as the summery month of July. It is one of the largest ski swaps in northern Michigan, Kelley said.

“Run” at the Vogue

Now playing at the Vogue Theatre is Warner Bros. “Logan’s Run” starring Michael York, Jenny Agutter and Richard Jordan. This unique science fiction blends interesting ideas with state of the art effects and a thinking man’s story. Showtimes are 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.

60 YEARS AGO

Tests underway

Manistee city and county school children are currently receiving the Mantoux tuberculosis test, being given by the Manistee-Mason County Health Department with the cooperation of the members of the Manistee County Medical Society. The response to the test has been most gratifying in grade schools so far tested, according to a spokesman for the Health Department.
