Songwriters workshop slated for February

MANISTEE — The Ramsdell Regional Center for the Arts will offer a unique opportunity for area musicians next month.

Nationally renowned artist, Ellis Paul will be holding a special songwriters’ workshop from 3-5 p.m. on Feb. 3 at the Ramsdell. All ages of aspiring songwriters are welcome.

Known as a singer, storyteller and songwriter, Paul has created 19 albums, won numerous critical kudos along with 15 Boston Music Awards, and has been included in several commercials, TV shows and movie soundtracks such as “Me, Myself & Irene,” “Shallow Hal” and “Hall Pass.”

During the workshop, he will sit down to share his techniques and guidance in writing original songs. Since the workshop is limited to 20 participants, no musician will be lost in the crowd.

Paul will also be presenting his concert, “The World Ain’t Slowin’ Down — Ellis Paul Celebrates 25 Years on the Road” on stage at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 3 at the Ramsdell Theatre with opening artist Nick Veine.
