World Thinking Day an annual tradition

MANISTEE — Manistee area Girls Scouts celebrated World Thinking Day on Sunday with a special program at Faith Covenant Church.

The event is held every year and features a variety of activities, displays and presentations on other countries that the scouts have studied over the past few weeks.

Girl Scout troops presented information on Egypt, Ireland, Germany, Brazil and Ukraine as well as other countries.

One of the highlights is when the younger scouts receive the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) pins from the older scout members.

The event also included a flag ceremony by Troop No. 3967 and a discussion on growing friendships by Pastor Julie Portillo.

Katelynn Feil acted as emcee, and Hope Miller and Kiera Raymond assisted with the AV and ceremonies.
