History of Portage Lake Bible Camp to be presented at Farr Center

ONEKAMA — The Portage Lake Bible Camp has been a fixture on the south shore of Portage Lake for more than 70 years.

The Farr Friends will host Peter Ek, program director of the camp, from 2-4 p.m. on Thursday at the Farr Center, located at 5283 Main St. (M-22) in Onekama.

Ek will talk about the history of the camp and its ministry through family and children’s camps over the years. He will also talk about current programs offered to corporate and school groups. Those who have participated in the camp’s programs are encouraged to attend and share their experiences.

Farr Friends, a program of the Portage Lake Association, meets every Thursday at the Farr Center as a resource for those interested in meeting others and becoming involved in the community. In addition to special presentations, the group meets for games, conversations and socialization. All are welcome.
