Area Easter events slated

MANISTEE COUNTY — Area children will have many opportunities to fill their Easter baskets with colorful eggs this weekend.

Events slated throughout Manistee County and the surrounding areas on Saturday include:

  • The Manistee Jaycees will host an Easter Egg Hunt at 1 p.m. at Jefferson Elementary School for children ages 12 and under. Children will be separated into groups for ages 0-3, 4-7 and 8-12.
  • The Bear Lake Promoters will sponsor an Easter Egg Hunt at 9 a.m. at Hopkins Park in Bear Lake. In the event of inclement weather, the alternate location will be at the Bear Lake United Methodist Church.
  • Onekama First Congregational Church will host an Easter Bunny Gala from 10 a.m. to noon at the church, located at 4920 Spring St. in Onekama. All children are welcome, and the event is free.
  • Pomona Bible Church will host an Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. at Copemish Village Park. For more information, or in case of questionable weather, call the church at (231) 885-2044.
  • Pleasant Valley Community Center will host an Easter Egg Hunt and visit with the Easter Bunny at 1 p.m. at the community center, located at 3586 Glovers Lake Road in Arcadia. For more information, call the center at (231) 889-7069.
  • Blaine Christian Church invites children through 11 years old and their families to an Easter Egg Hunt at 11 a.m. at the church, located at 7018 Putney Road in Arcadia.
  • The Frankfort-Elberta Area Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt beginning at 10 a.m. sharp at Mineral Springs Park in Frankfort. The Easter Bunny will be available for pictures starting at 9:30 a.m.
  • Crystal Lake Community Business Association is sponsoring an Easter Egg Hunt at 1 p.m. at Memorial Park in Benzonia. For more information, contact the Benzie County Chamber of Commerce at (231) 882-5801.
