Andy and Nancy Anderson celebrate 60th anniversary

MANISTEE — Nancy and Andy Anderson celebrated their 60th anniversary on Thursday.

The Andersons, of Manistee, were married at Guardian Angel’s Church in Manistee by Father Edward J. Kubiak on June 15, 1957. The couple honeymooned with a trip around Lake Michigan.

Nancy Boertman was born in Manistee, to Harry and Lenore Boertman. Robert “Andy” Anderson was born in Manistee, to Floyd and Lucille Anderson.

Nancy and Andy made their home and raised their children in Manistee. Nancy was a homemaker, and Andy was a teacher in the Manistee Area Schools and sold cars for Mowry’s Car Dealership.

They have four children: Julie (Scott) Schmeling, Rick Anderson, both of Manistee, the late Kelly McKenna and the late Jill Anderson.

Their ten grandchildren include: Elise (John) Chalko, Ashley Bauman, Kylie Bauman, Samantha (Mark) Horney, Mallory Anderson, Austin, Alex, and Allison McKenna, Shane (Allison) Anderson and Mitchell Anderson. They also have two great grandsons: Anderson and Hudson Chalko.

The couple will celebrate with a family dinner.
