Big Catches at Ladies Pro-Am

Twenty teams entered the Manistee County Sport Fishing Association’s 2017 Ladies Classic on Friday morning with fisherwomen from all over the state.

The teams competed by the total weight of the fish they caught with a maximum of five, and they earned 10 points per fish.

Riverside Charters took first place in the professional division with final weight of 67.15 from five fish, which was good for a team score of 117.15. They earned a team prize of $600.

Steelhead Hunter took second place with a final weight of 62.60 and a team score of 112.60, and Reel Pleasure took third place with a weight of 58.90 and a team score of 108.90.

Doc’s Holiday won the amateur event with a total weight of 62.15 and a team score of 112.15.

Legacy finished second a weight of 49.25 and a team score of 99.25, and Obsession finished third with a weight of 47.70 and a score of 97.70.

There was also a contest for the biggest fish in each category (King salmon, lake trout and steelhead trout).

Reel Pleasure had the biggest King salmon at 17.10 lbs., Riverside had the biggest lake trout at 16.35 and Legacy caught the biggest steelhead at 10.90.
