Centra Wellness Network awarded three-year accreditation

MANISTEE — Centra Wellness Network, the then Manistee Benzie Community Health Organization, has recently been awarded a three-year accreditation from CARF International.

CARF is an independent, nonprofit accreditor of health and human services. It accounts for an on-site survey and reviewal process, along with other steps to receiving and maintaining an accreditation status.

Centra Wellness, located in Manistee, received a three-year accreditation for its organizational standards, and an array of behavioral health and intellectual disability services.

Nicole Warlin, executive assistant at the Centra Wellness Network, said CARF International completes a yearly audit by professional peers to rate the organization based on its performance.

“CARF comes in and does a really extensive audit on all of our programs, how we run them and our business,” Warlin said. “From that, they take all of the results and put it through to get a score.”

The three-year accreditation is the highest level an organization can reach.

“You can get a score of one, two or three,” Warlin said. “This is very good news for us.”

Centra Wellness was highlighted for its SafeNet prevention services offered in schools of both counties. The report also stated Centra Wellness is well-known and respected in the communities it serves.

In addition, the peer mentor programs, which were recently started, was noted to be making an impact. The accreditation will expire in May 2020.
