Baby boys and girls vie in ‘Beautiful Babies’ contest

ONEKAMA — The Portage Lake Association on Sunday announced the winners of its Beautiful Babies Contest, held as part of the weekend’s Onekama Days festivities.

Each baby’s name and picture was placed on a separate jar and displayed at 1 Kama Mama’s Family Restaurant in Onekama for several weeks. Voting was done with dollars.

The first place winner, and recipient of a $100 dollar Meijer gift card, was Aubree Paige Lyman of Kaleva. Four-month old Aubree is the daughter of Tara Lyman. Her grandparents are Greg and Wonda Kinnan and Jeff and Heidi Wisniski.

The second place winner, and recipient of a $50 dollar Meijer gift card, was Hunter Bentley Cebula of Onekama. Hunter, 15 months old, is the son of Ashlee Cebula and Travis Coopshaw. He is the grandson of Jessica and Ryan Cebula.

The remaining contestants received runner up certificates and a $25 Meijer gift card. Those recipients, in alphabetical order, were:

• Clare Helen Cook of Middleville; she is the 1-year-old daughter of Todd and Emily Cook. Clare’s grandparents are Pam and Mike Tompke of Brethern.

• Killian Gervers of Kaleva; he is the son of Maria and Kyle Gervers. Killian is 14 months old; his grandparents are Denise and Phil Peters.

• Brooklyn Morgan Halloran of Portland, Mich. Brooklyn, 19 months old, is the daughter of Andy and Tracy Halloran. Her grandparents are Joe and Susan Halloran of Onekama.

• Evelyn Marie Roof of Onekama. She is the 2-year-old daughter of Cheyenne Mihalik and Donovan Rook. Her grandfather is Rich Chmura.
