Civic Players to show ‘The Best Christmas Pageant Ever’

MANISTEE — The Manistee Civic Players are excited to be able to provide another year of fun quality entertainment for those out enjoying the holiday festivities in December, and hope the community will show their support by bringing family and friends to see the show.

For this Christmas season, the Manistee Civic Players will perform “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever,” along with a Community Sing-a-long, December 1-3 and Dec. 8-10, at the Manistee High School. Kindly show your support by buying tickets and volunteering when possible.

“The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” is a hilarious Christmas tale that is perfect for all ages. A couple struggling to put on a church Christmas pageant is faced with casting the Herdman kids — probably the most inventively awful kids in history. You won’t believe the mayhem, and the fun, when the Herdmans collide with the Christmas story head on.

This delightful comedy is adapted from the best-selling young adult book, and has become a holiday staple for groups across the United States. It features plenty of great roles for children and adults and has many favorite Christmas carols that will be included in the sing-a-long, and of course, tons of laughs.

Order Tickets in advance by calling MyNorth Tickets at (800) 836-0717 (open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m). or online at www.manisteecivicplayers.org.

Hometown community theater groups bring folks from all backgrounds together to create memories and art, share good times, and build self-esteem and long lasting friendships.

They invite and include as many people as possible and support local businesses. If you have never been to a show, or have always wanted to get involved, contact the Civic Players or come to auditions. They take in all community members and need new ones to join on a regular basis. To get started, call the business office at (231) 723-7188 or email the Civic Players.
